Dave Timmer – Owner/Operator

I was born and raised in Oshtemo, Michigan.  It all started in 2001 when I was 12 years old. I had saved $250.00 in “birthday capital”, and in the spirit of entrepreneurship, I used it to purchase my first push mower. With some help from my dad as the ProTurf chauffer, the business was off and running.  I would spend most of my evenings and weekends mowing during my high school years.  The plan was to fund college with the money from the business, so after graduating from high school in 2008, I enrolled at Western Michigan University.  During this the time the business started to flourish. My passion for the green industry continued to grow and I decided to make a career out of it.

Jesse Marshall – Operations Manager

I was born and raised in Portage, Michigan, and have lived in the Kalamazoo area for most of my life. My first experience in the green industry started when I was 13 years old at West Portage Little League, where I would mow the fields and chalk the lines. After graduating high school, I decided to start my own lawn and landscape business, which I ran with my three partners while earning my BS in Education from Western Michigan University. Upon completing my undergraduate degree, I decided to sell my share of the business to my partners. I spent the next eight years working in Social Services, but I never lost my love for the green industry. In the summer of 2018, I met Dave. I was instantly impressed by him and the business he built from scratch. I am proud to be part of a company committed to customer satisfaction and integrity.
